Home again, home again…

While I really do love the experience of camping and being outside in the sun, going to the beach, losing track of time and all the fun that comes with making smores around the campfire…. there’s something to be said for coming home.
We unpacked the trailer and the truck…put the stuff out of the cooler back into the fridge…and fell onto the couch. The dirty clothes can wait (although they probably shouldn’t), and the dry goods can sit in the big tupperware container for a few more hours (likely until tomorrow) while I catch up on my emails, internet surfing, and checking all my messages.
When I turned my blackberry on as we headed down the 400 back towards Toronto, hubby laughed as it chirruped with all the incoming messages and texts.
Ahh, the love of being needed!
But now I’m back to the land of the living (and the interwebs) so all is right in the world.
Plus I get to sleep in my own bed tonight!
Yet another bonus!

I think you’re a brave woman leaving the intarwebs home. I’m not going on vacation without my laptop and get extremely irritated when I can’t hook on to a wifi-spot at least every few days (addicted much?)
I imagine you come home with a shoppingbag full of scraps of paper with bits of story on them (because you couldn’t put them in the computer when they came to you) and now you have to sort all of them out, find a piece and think ‘which story was this supposed to go in’ and ‘what?? I think I wasn’t sober when I wrote this’
Good to hear you had a good time and that you’re back in one piece (when I think of Canada’s less lived in area’s I see bears hiding behind every tree

When I go to the cottage for 2 weeks at the end of the summer there is NO internet available.
There is – however – a spot in the middle of the gravel drive between the clothesline and the boathouse were you can pick up just enough signal on the blackberry to download emails and text messages — but only if you hold the phone about a foot above your head. ^_^
BUT – I’m taking the laptop in the hopes of finishing the WIP. (The fact that there’s WiFi at the ferry dock has no bearing on me taking it. Nope. None at all).
I put story ideas in the blackberry – shorthand – then forget what the heck various lines like “3 ppl 2 bt blue” is supposed to mean!!!
