I’m excited to host a Q&A with New York times bestseller, Cherrie Lynn.

Do you listen to music while you write? If so, what is your favorite writing music?

I usually do listen to music while I write, and what I listen to really depends on my mood that day or the scene I’m writing. Mostly, it’s rock. Sometimes it’s more ambient. I especially like some video game soundtracks for this; I put on my Beats and I’m in another world. Very rarely, I reach a point where music is a little distracting, and I need silence. But there’s usually no silence in my house unless the kids and hubby are all gone! So music it is, to block everything else out but the story.

Do you plan what you are going to write ahead of time or let the characters lead you?

I let them lead me for the most part. When I start out, I usually have an idea where I’m going and a few major plot points along the way. Sometimes I have an ending in mind and sometimes I discover that later. But how we get from point A to point B and beyond is up to the characters.

Scavenger hunt: What kind of soundtracks does Cherrie like to listen to?
